FOUNDER

Charles Ward, an experienced commercial photographer based in Northamptonshire, England. With a passion for blending traditional service and innovation, Charles has spent years honing his craft for over 40 years, transforming ideas into captivating visuals.

Born and raised on the family farm in Earls Barton, Charles developed a keen interest in photography in his late teens. At that time, he was working in the shoe industry at Barker Shoes (started by his great-great grandfather) and used photography to record new shoe designs in Italy. Having mastered his craft, he went professional back in 1985 and hasn’t looked back since. Ask him what he loves photographing best and he will probably tell you aerial views from his drone, cars and people - quite an eclectic mix.

FILMMAKER

James is Charles’ eldest son and has now formed his own company specialising in motion film work. James is making quite a name for himself, both here in the UK and around the world, filming a variety of subjects from supercars and sports to promotional films for blue chip companies. James is particularly skilled at interviews and showcasing start-up companies and can assist you plan your film with scripts and a storyboard.

PHOTOGRAPHER

Grace Crawford has been Charles’ assistant for a number of years and every day she is always keen to learn and develop her skills with the aim to become a commercial photographer in the future. Working with Grace is always great fun and his customers love chatting to her during photoshoots and hearing about her learning progress. These days, Grace is also developing her modelling skills and this can be very useful to us in the studio when we ask Grace to model some clothing, or use her hands during a food shoot. In summary, Grace is a young and up and coming photographer, who is also proving to be one of our best photographic assistants.

HOME ECONOMIST AND FOOD STYLIST

Emma is a fully qualified and experienced Economist and food stylist working throughout the UK. She has been working with Charles for a number of years and they have now teamed up to offer a number of food styling and photography courses, starting later this year. Emma has over twenty five years experience and works with a number of well known blue chip companies, such as Innocent, Morrisons, Waitrose, The Co-Op, Asda, M&S, to name just a few. STUDIO ASSISTANT AND STYLIST

Becky is our studio assistant who is always on hand to hold a reflector or help with a set build. Having studied photography at Northampton University, Becky left with a first class degree to join CWP and put some of her studies to good use in a. busy working photography studio. Becky’s ambition is to one day own her own company and specialise in food photography.

TED WALKER

Katie is Charles’ wife and mother to Freddie and James. When Katie is not helping Charles at the studio in Earls Barton, you will find her at their home in Devon. Katie is a trained NNEB, having worked as a nanny in America in the early 80’s and latterly as a classroom assistant at Wellingborough School (2000 - 2020).
